​I believe a great tattoo should be more than something that looks good. It should have a reason for being there—something that connects to the person wearing it, while remaining strong enough in design and execution to stand the test of time.

My role is to help you turn your ideas, values, and personal story into a tattoo that feels unmistakably yours, while drawing from the traditions and principles that have shaped the way I work.

​​​​​​A Career Built On Experience

I began my career with a traditional apprenticeship in 2001, followed by a decade working in fast-paced street shops. Tattooing a wide range of styles and concepts gave me a broad technical foundation and taught me how to work with all kinds of people, ideas, and bodies.

In 2011, I opened Rain City Tattoo in Vancouver, where I spent the next 13 years building a reputation for custom work and developing long-term relationships with my clients.

In 2024, I opened Golden Eagle Tattoo in Squamish, giving me the opportunity to shape my practice around the kind of tattooing I value most: thoughtful, custom work rooted in American and Japanese traditional tattooing.

As of 2026 you can now find me tattooing primarily in Vernon at Five Fathoms Tattoo.

Rooted in tradition

My work is rooted in a contemporary approach to American and Japanese traditional tattooing—two traditions I hold close to my heart and approach with great respect.

Both are built on principles that have endured for generations: strong composition, appropriate subject matter, symbolism, colour, and techniques developed to create tattoos that age well. I believe understanding those principles matters. They provide a framework for creating tattoos that are not only visually powerful, but considered and appropriate to the person wearing them.

Your tattoo, your journey

Every client comes to the process from a different place. Some arrive with a clear vision; others know what they want their tattoo to mean but aren't sure how to translate that into a design. My job is to meet you where you are, ask the right questions, and guide you through the decisions that turn an idea into a finished tattoo.

With more than two decades of experience, I  believe part of my responsibility is to educate. I'll explain the reasoning behind the choices we make, so you can feel confident in the tattoo you're choosing.

A craft I'm still exploring

Tattooing is a craft I've spent more than two decades learning, practicing, and continuing to study. I'm still fascinated by why these traditions work, how they can be interpreted today, and how they can be used to create something deeply personal for the person wearing it.
